Archbishop Moeller High School is Hiring a School Counselor Near Cincinnati, OH

Executive Summary
Archbishop Moeller is an all-male, Catholic high school (grades 9-12) located in Cincinnati, OH. Founded by the Marianist order of Priests and Brothers, Moeller is a Catholic high school in the Marianist tradition. Moeller strives to educate all students, regardless of ability, in Mind, Body, and Spirit within a Community of Brothers. Moeller is nationally recognized for their House System and continues to be a leader in the integration of technology, celebrating over 20 years as a one-to-one tablet school. Moeller offers a comprehensive, college preparatory curriculum which includes over 30 Advanced Placement/College Credit Plus courses, as well as courses in visual and performing arts, world language, business, and information technology.
Moeller is seeking a School Counselor to join our dynamic, dedicated, and collaborative counseling department. The School Counselor will serve students and families in grades 9-12 in one of our six houses. The typical counselor case load is about 140 students. Starting in August 2024, the successful candidate will work with students, parents, and faculty on meeting the academic and emotional needs of our students.
Selected Duties
  • Attend to the academic, social and emotional well-being of students.
  • Prepare students for post-secondary opportunities through college and career planning. Participate in all facets of college application, scholarship and financial aid programs.
  • Collaborate with fellow counselors, administrators, and teachers to develop, implement, and teach counseling department curriculum.
  • Participate in departmental Professional Learning Communities and attend educational conferences/workshops to maintain and improve the overall counseling department and the individual counselor’s skills.
  • Manage students on a Moeller Assistance Plan (MAP), which is the private school equivalent of a 504 plan.
  • Assist the counseling department with standardized testing throughout the year.
  • Assist students in the basic registration and course registration process for the NCAA eligibility center.
  • Ability to work with a dynamic team of professional school counselors to implement a comprehensive school counseling program based on the ASCA National Model.
Qualifications
  • Candidates will possess a Master’s Degree in School Counseling and be a licensed school counselor. Candidates will have high school counseling experience, be a lifelong learner, and possess a comprehensive understanding of best practices for educating and working with adolescent boys.
  • Candidates should have experience and expertise in the realm of mental health counseling. Experience with career counseling and/or career development programming is a plus.
  • Ideal candidates will be dynamic, personable, energetic individuals who work well with high school students and their families and will be able to help foster the spiritual, academic, social, and emotional growth of each student. Additionally, they will possess a desire to support the academic vision and mission of Moeller High School: Catholic. Marianist. Forming Our Students into Remarkable Men.
Compensation, Benefits and Hiring
Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications. We offer a robust benefits package including personal days, healthcare, dental, FSA, 401K option with employer contribution, paid lunch program, tuition remission for dependents, and graduate school tuition reimbursement. The position is full-time; contract is effective August 1.
