The Position

Experienced Bodily Injury Adjuster sought. Familiarity with Business Auto and Commercial General Liability policies. Proven track record of investigating, evaluating, and settling commercial auto and general liability bodily injury claims using concepts of comparative and contributory fault. Experience with employment practices and cyber is a plus. Ability to detect excess policy exposures and work with reinsurers. Familiar with litigation management, must be able to work with defense counsel and evaluate liability, medical testimony, and expert witness testimony and set judgmental reserves. Strong negotiation skills are a must, experience with ADR is highly valued.

Job Responsibilities

• Claim investigation: Initial and final coverage confirmation, review, investigate, and actively bring claims to conclusion, process claims utilizing a high degree of judgement.
• Initiative: Appropriate diary and claim management to ensure prompt, accurate and appropriate claim resolution.
• Service: timely and responsive communication with insureds, agents, claimants, attorneys, independent insurance adjusters and carrier regarding status of claim.
• Coverage and Damage Analysis: Appropriately analyze coverage and accurate claim damage valuation using expert resources as needed.
• Reserves, Negotiation and Settlement: Maintain accurate and timely reserves that reflect the ultimate probable value of the claim. Accurately and timely resolve claims using appropriate negotiation and influencing skills

Required Skills/Experience

• NY State Adjusters license a plus, but not required. Ability to obtain state licensing as needed within 9 months of hire.
• Minimum of 2-3 years exposure to Business Auto and Commercial General Liability policy claims adjusting and claim resolution.
• Knowledge of various state regulations as they apply to benefits administration and claim adjudication.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• The ability to succeed and excel in a collaborative and team-based environment
• Strong time management and desk management skills.
• Knowledge of and ability to operate efficiently in a Windows-based environment using Excel, Word and Outlook as well as company claim administration software.
• Ability to work independently and to carry out assignment to completion.
• Growth potential beyond current role.

Education

High-school degree or equivalent, college degree or coursework preferred.
