The Environmental Air Quality Specialist will assist in providing support for all environmental activities that happen at and around the ArcelorMittal Texas HBI Plant.

Tasks & Responsibilities:

• Knows, understands, and follows all Safety and Environmental policies, procedures and requirements
• Support, coordinate, oversee, follow-up on any environmental incidents as required
• Perform environmental site inspections and complete respective documentation
• Manage and oversee air quality program
• Perform required air-related sampling, measurements, calculations, observations, and investigations as required
• Develop and implement air quality monitoring plans, perform emissions calculations, and interpretations of respective TAC rules, regulations, & standards
• Provide guidance and recommendations to improve engineering controls to achieve and maintain compliance.
• Consult with regulatory agencies, such as TCEQ and EPA, to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and requirements.
• Lead the preparation and review of air quality permit documentations, including Title V, PSD/NSR, Permits by Rule, Semiannual Deviation Reports, Air Emission Inventory Reports, and Greenhouse Gas Emission Reports
• Create and provide technical reports as required
• Provide technical environmental expertise and support to project teams and other departments
• Communicate and increase environmental awareness within the facility
• Conduct and track air-related environmental training for all employees & contractors as required
• Performs other duties assigned as needed

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in air quality, environmental science, engineering, or related field
• Strong knowledge of federal and state air quality regulations and policies
• Specific air quality related environmental knowledge (e.g. permits, plans, policies) for ArcelorMittal Texas HBI
• Ability to effectively respond to environmental incidents
• Ability to create and complete reports within deadlines as required
• Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, & PowerPoint)
• Must have the ability to effectively communicate in English, verbally and in writing. Skills will be used to produce quality reports and thorough instructions and directions
• Must have reliable transportation to and from work
