Arcadis is seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to support our Design and Engineering Divisions continued growth in North America. This is a remote role and can be based anywhere in the USA.

Role description:
As a Mechanical Design Engineer you will participate the mechanical discipline of multiple concurrent projects through pursuit, proposal, design, and construction phases. You will support design efforts and assist the project teams, other senior and junior engineers, projects managers and clients designing HVAC, Plumbing and Fire Protection systems on various projects throughout the USA.
Role accountabilities:

• Design for available capacity, redundancy, reliability, efficiency, and safety, as well as constructability and cost.
• Travel to project sites for engineering site surveys, data collection for system studies, system audits and collaboration with clients' team members.
• Familiarity with industry standards, building codes, and safety standards such as ASHRAE, ASME, IECC, ANSI, UFC, UBC as well as international standards such as IEC, CE, EN.
• Exposure to in design and modeling of HVAC, plumbing and fire protection systems using software (AutoCAD, Revit, BIM360, Trane Trace).
• Inter-discipline knowledge of facility systems.
• Experience developing solutions to complex projects.
• Perform various system studies (thermal comfort, indoor air quality, humidity control, energy management)
• Work with designers to develop sealed drawings of your designs
• Provide mentoring to junior staff

Qualifications & Experience:
Required Qualifications:

• BS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
• 4 or more years of relevant experience in Engineering
• Pursuing EI/EIT or PE registration

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Fire Protection Design included perspective, performance-based design as well as fell detailed design of sprinkler piping.
• Design experience producing IFC drawings for Industrial Facilities.
• Lean design and construction experience.

The salary range for this position is $82400 - $142140.
