As a School Assistant, you will be responsible for assisting students with disabilities aged 18-22 to lead self-directed lives and to participate fully in their community.

What does a School Assistant do? 

• Drives students to various community sites during the school day. 
• Supports the students’ self-advocacy.
• Assists the ESE teacher in implementing lesson plans.
• Works directly with students to make progress on their goals.
• Supervises and provides coaching to students learning work skills at various business sites in the community. 

Requirements 

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Must be 21 years old.
• Must have valid Florida driver’s license, with an acceptable driving record.
• Operate a company van to transport individuals.
• Must pass criminal background check.
• Must pass physical and drug test.
