The Associate, Management Consulting and Strategic Planning supports strategy implementation, process improvement, and organization re-alignment on complex, visible programs in emergency management and homeland security. Candidates must have at least 2 years of experience in management consulting projects for the Federal government.

Responsibilities

  • Supports management consulting projects for the Federal government in strategic planning and implementation, process improvement, and organizational realignment to enhance mission results
  • Collaborates with a team and also leads workstreams in priority initiatives
  • Apply human-centered design approaches such as customer experience and other innovation techniques to enhance service and build trust
  • Loves to learn complex mission areas in homeland security and emergency management
  • Apply and enhance excellent consulting, business analysis, and communications skills to quickly identify problems, analyze challenges, and recommend solutions to our team and our clients
  • Join our consulting practice to support projects and company growth initiatives, managing multiple workstreams at one time
  • Develop consulting skills and help grow the company outside of your project by participating in new business and strategic initiatives
  • Contribute to our company culture, which promotes client-focused teamwork, learning, and helping others to grow and develop 

Required Qualifications

  • 2 years of experience in management consulting projects for the Federal government
  • Experience in implementing strategy, stakeholder engagement, and collaboration with senior clients
  • Ability to learn and apply innovative methods; embraces a growth mindset at all times
  • Experience in process improvement, meeting and stakeholder engagement support, and/or program analysis to support strategic change
  • Ability to support policy and process analysis and develop documents and communications
  • Direct experience with client and stakeholder engagement (including senior-level leaders) and delivering work products for clients in a complex stakeholder environment
  • Proven to be flexible and thrive in a dynamic, ambiguous, and complex work environment and manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
  • Outstanding written and oral communication and collaboration skills and strong leadership potential
  • Excellent attention to detail in creating compelling presentations and decision documents to help clients make critical decisions about the future of their organization
  • Interest in taking a leadership role on workstreams
  • Technologically savvy, especially with Microsoft products and use of collaboration tools such as Teams and SharePoint
  • Desire to join a consulting firm and learn business concepts; loves to collaborate and reach out to get involved in company events, offerings, and special projects
  • Clearance: U.S. Citizenship only (no dual citizenship) / ability to obtain security clearance
  • Education: Master's degree
  • Critical Skills: Entrepreneurial spirit, strong work ethic, excellent problem-solving skills, resilience, loves to learn, excited to engage and build relationships
