Arbors Management Inc. is Hiring a Building Maintenance Technician Near Pittsburgh, PA

Description:Building Maintenance TechnicianPittsburgh, PA (Millvale area)$23 per hour BOE

Arbors Management Inc. has an opening for a qualified Building Maintenance Technician at two smaller Senior & Disabled independent living buildings located on the North Side of Pittsburgh, PA. This full-time position will allow you to use your skills in carpentry, electrical, plumbing, drywall and grounds-keeping. If you enjoy performing a different task everyday as well as working with people, then we encourage you to apply!

Pay for the Building Maintenance Technician 2 starts at $23 per hour based on experience. Typical hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. This position will require on-call time for after hours emergencies. The on-call is shared with the other maintenance staff.

Successful outcomes of the Building Maintenance Technician will include:

  • Ensuring apartment turnovers are completed within 5 working days on average
  • Completing work orders within 1 week or receipt on average (handling emergency work orders ASAP)
  • Maintaining the cleanliness of all grounds and common areas including windows, floors, restroom, sidewalks, grass and other areas as needed
  • Maintaining adequate inventory for common repairs and keeping the maintenance shop neat and organized
  • Foster positive relationships with all outside vendors and contractors
  • Communicate regularly with Property Managers and the Director of Maintenance

Skills needed to to be successful as the Building Maintenance Technician include:

  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of:
    • Plumbing repair
    • Electrical repair
    • Drywall hanging and repair
    • Painting
  • Willingness and ability to handle trash compactor and dumpsters
  • Groundskeeping including grass and snow removal
  • Computer skills to use a laptop and a cell phone regularly

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 3 years experience working in a building maintenance position
  • Physical ability to stand, bend, walk, stoop, crawl and/or climb for the duration of an 8-hour shift
  • Must pass pre-employment drug and background screen
  • Must have valid drivers license, insurance and personal vehicle
