Development and Marketing Coordinator

Position Description: Under the direction of the Executive Director, this position is responsible for the overall implementation of AYS fundraising efforts, including annual giving, public/private partnerships, advocacy, development-related marketing, and fundraising events. This position reports to the Executive Director and is a member of the Grants Team.

Primary duties include but are not limited to:

• Coordinate and collaborate with Executive Director to implement short-term and long-range plans for ongoing fundraising efforts that support the organization’s strategic plan.
• Work collaboratively and strategically with the leadership team and Board of Directors to plan, organize, and execute regular donor events and engagement opportunities.
• Cultivate, steward, and build relationships and funding with current and potential corporate, foundation, and individual donors, leveraging in-person, electronic, telephone, and written communications as appropriate.
• Plan and implement various giving campaigns such as direct mail, social media, employee giving, donor affinity programs, third-party fundraising platforms, and others as identified.
• Identify opportunities to build in-kind support for AYS.
• Identify local community grant opportunities, work with grants team to submit grant applications, and report on funded grants.
• Develop and implement practices to accurately track and document all donor information and activity into Arbor’s CRM database, Bloomerang
• Coordinate special events, including the annual Bluegrass Bash event including a silent auction. Work with community partners and local businesses to arrange third-party fundraising events.
• Coordinate public relations for Arbor, including communication with media, social media activity, and keeping the website up to date. This includes developing and implementing an annual plan to communicate with media (newspapers, radio and television outlets, podcasts, etc.) to ensure special events are promoted and stories of life change are being shared.
• Assist with creation of the AYS’s marketing and collateral pieces; distribute as appropriate to donors, potential donors, and partners.
• Work collaboratively with the Executive Director and AYS Grants Team to collect and report needed data for grant applications and reporting
• Participate in community relations activities as necessary to promote AYS and cultivate donor relationships.
• Maintain and provide accurate and timely reports, data, and supporting information, as needed.
• Other duties, as assigned.

Minimum Job Requirements

• A working knowledge of local, state, and federal fundraising laws and regulations
• Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with staff, volunteers, and donors
• Ability to develop and implement short-term and long-range plans
• Creativity in developing and successfully implementing a variety of programs.
• Exercise discretion and maintain confidential information.
• Ability to balance multiple ongoing projects simultaneously.
• Excellent presentation and public speaking skills.
• Superior organizational, interpersonal, and writing skills.
• Quick adaptability to institutional and community cultures; high performance within a variety of contexts

Education and Experience

• A minimum of a bachelor’s degree or 5 years of marketing, community relations, and/or development experience
• At least three years of fundraising experience preferred
• Experience coordinating events preferred
• Possession of a valid driver’s license
