If you have the skills above and have worked in a skilled nursing/retirement community, come make a difference in the lives of our residents by leading CNA/LN onboarding & ensuring ongoing training and appropriate processes are in place to be compliant in infection control as the Infection Preventionist. Will support quality assurance and performance improvement through reporting on metrics and assisting in improving organizational processes.

Requirements:

• A caring heart and an enthusiasm for learning and training.
• Training/training development experience of several years in the nursing field.
• Strong organizational/administrative skills.
• Licensed RN (Registered Nurse) in NC.
• Several years experience practicing in a skilled nursing facility.
• Strong PowerPoint, Excel and Word skills and experience in healthcare applications.
• Experience in developing training materials and procedures/processes.
• Need to have knowledge and education in Infection and Quality Control & be willing to research standards.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Develop training for onboarding and ongoing in-service trainings (in partnership with the HR, safety and other individuals on campus).
• Serve as a part of the Safety Committee & the QAPI Committee and support safety drills as required.
• Stay up-to-date on regulatory standards (with support from others in the department)
• Makes rounds to ensure staff are following standard precautions and in compliance with rules and regulations.
• Maintain Nursing Policy and Procedure book, ensuring it is current and up to date.
• Maintain CPR Instructor license.
• Serve as an essential team player during State Survey and works with staff to ensure they are prepared for the process.
• Participate in the weekly IDT meetings to discuss the skilled residents.
• Serve as the Nursing expert for electronic medical records (AOD).
• May fill in on carts, etc. as needed if staffing shortages exist.
• Attend the annual SPICE Infection for long-term care course and maintain the certificate

Qualifications

- RN License

- Experience (at least 2 years) in retirement community

- Experience in developing and delivering trainings and CNA orientations.

- Comfortable and experienced in public speaking.

- Experienced in technology to include healthcare software, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.

- Experience in and ability to stay knowledgeable of infection control standards and to create reports to describe certain quality measures.
