Embedded Software/Firmware Development

SSD Firmware testing experience

Job Summary:

The Embedded SSD Engineer is responsible for the design, development, testing, and optimization of SSD solutions for embedded systems. This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams, including firmware engineers, hardware designers, and system architects, to deliver high-performance and reliable storage solutions tailored to specific applications

  1. Design and Development:

    • Develop and implement SSD firmware and hardware solutions for embedded systems.
    • Collaborate with hardware engineers to design and integrate SSD components.
    • Ensure compliance with industry standards and protocols (e.g., SATA, NVMe, PCIe).
  2. Firmware Engineering:

    • Write and optimize firmware code for SSD controllers.
    • Debug and resolve firmware issues to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
    • Implement features such as wear leveling, garbage collection, and error correction.
  3. Performance Optimization:

    • Analyze and enhance SSD performance metrics, including read/write speeds, latency, and endurance.
    • Conduct performance tuning and benchmarking of SSD solutions.
  4. Testing and Validation:

    • Develop and execute test plans to validate SSD functionality and performance.
    • Use tools and methodologies to test SSD reliability and durability under various conditions.
    • Work with QA teams to resolve any issues identified during testing.
  5. Technical Documentation:

    • Create detailed design documentation, including specifications, schematics, and test plans.
    • Maintain accurate records of development processes and changes.
  6. Cross-Functional Collaboration:

    • Work with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and deliver customized SSD solutions.
    • Provide technical support and guidance to other engineers and stakeholders.
  7. Innovation and Improvement:

    • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in SSD technology and embedded systems.
    • Propose and implement improvements to existing SSD solutions.
    • Experience:

      • Proven experience in SSD firmware and hardware development.
      • Familiarity with embedded systems and real-time operating systems (RTOS).
      • Experience with NAND flash memory technology.
    • Skills:

      • Proficiency in programming languages such as C, C , and assembly.
      • Strong understanding of storage protocols (e.g., NVMe, SATA).
      • Experience with hardware design tools (e.g., CAD, PCB design software).
      • Ability to troubleshoot and debug hardware and firmware issues.
    • Soft Skills:

      • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
      • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
      • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
