Job Description:

Drive programs/projects from project initiation through delivery. Interface with clients on technical and business issues. Create and/or review multiple functional specifications that will be used as tools in making decisions as to how the product or service will be implemented. Provide Product Managers & Product Unit Managers with technical and/or analytical information. Organize cross functional activities ensuring the program/project is completed on schedule and within budget constraints. Provide program/project schedules and status reports.

The purpose of this team is to work on the product side of client's quantum computing efforts, specifically on Azure services that connect customers to quantum computing hardware, mostly from third-party providers.

Typical task breakdown and operating rhythm:
o Documenting requirements and writing product specifications for a new technology incubation project related to quantum networking.
o Coordinating with a third-party partner based in Vancouver to build the new technology.
o Spending some time in the physical lab, setting up, checking, and monitoring equipment.
o Working with two researchers to understand their vision and what they are trying to build.
o Using Azure Quantum and Azure Quantum Elements, which are services that connect customers to quantum computing hardware.

Requirements:

o High level communication is a must!
o 10 years of experience in a technical topic, such as mechanical engineering, software engineering, physics, optics, or quantum physics.
o Strong networking skills, especially in large-scale or physical networking.
o Experience with telecom networking or similar domains.
o Lab experience and ability to work with physical hardware and equipment.

•Degrees or certifications required:
o Relevant experience is great but contractor should have a degree in a technical topic, such as mechanical engineering, software engineering, physics, optics, or quantum physics.

The target hiring compensation range for this role is the equivalent of $82.32 to $91.47 an hour. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
