AQUA Dermatology is Hiring a Sunrise Dermatology - Medical Billing - Mobile Near Mobile, AL

We are a full-service dermatology practice specializing in medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology. With two fellowship-trained Mohs surgeons on staff, we offer on-site diagnosis and treatment of skin cancers at our Skin Cancer Surgery Center.

This position is responsible for taking incoming and outgoing calls to patients and insurance companies to resolve account balances. Essential job duties: account review, customer service, and billing. Positions will perform all related duties assigned.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Complete all business-related requests and correspondence from patients and insurance companies.
  • Complete all assigned projects promptly.
  • Assist clients and patients in all requested tasks.
  • Communicate to management, areas of concern or areas of improvement.
  • Performs various collection actions including the following and reporting of delinquent accounts to the collection agency.
  • Posts payments and prepares daily deposits.
  • Research and respond to all patient inquiries received by telephone and mail.
  • Update patient demographic information and initiate account adjustments.
  • Try to resolve account balances to zero before accounts are forwarded to an outside agency for collection.
  • Participates in educational activities and attends department staff meetings
  • Conducts oneself by company policies and procedures
  • Maintains strictest confidentiality, adhering to all HIPAA guidelines
  • Other duties as assigned.

POSITION TYPE AND EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK

  • Full-Time
  • Monday - Thursday 7:30 -4 pm, Friday 7:30 - 3 pm
  • This position is On-Site


QUALIFICATIONS

Education - This position requires completion of at least a High School Degree or equivalent.

Experience – Minimum of 1-year medical provider experience. Proficiency with Microsoft Office. General understanding of professional billing fee billing process and procedures.

Communication – Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to establish effective working relationships with providers, staff, and the public.

Work Style - Must be able to work well independently but ask for help when needed. Ability to analyze and interpret information, ability to interact and decipher information telephonically and electronically.
