Job Summary

Aptive is seeking a Growth Director with proven experience winning net new business in the federal market. This role requires the ability to execute full life cycle business development across multiple opportunities in a collaborative environment. As a member of Aptive’s growth team, you will play a key role facilitating and enabling Aptive’s pursuit of qualified opportunities – aligned to corporate strategy. In this position, you will collaborate with Aptive experts and team members to support Federal opportunities throughout the opportunity lifecycle including transition to service delivery.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Developing account plans and go-to-market strategies at new agencies or new offices at existing customer agencies
  • Demonstrates experience winning opportunities that include Aptive’s areas of core competency including strategy and transformation, human experience, marketing and communications, human capital, data & analytics, and research & evaluation 
  • Identifying, qualifying, shaping and closing a portfolio of opportunities that support the account plan, Aptive capabilities, strategic and financial objectives 
  • Developing a win strategy for all qualified opportunities
  • Providing full-lifecycle deal leadership and working collaboratively with senior and executive leadership, solution architects, account and client delivery representatives, pricing, proposal management, teaming partners and others. 
  • Lead customer requirement(s) shaping strategy, requirement(s) interpretation and solution generation 
  • Lead partnering / teaming strategy and engagement with the team throughout the business development, capture, proposal lifecycles and transition to client delivery. 
  • Demonstrates knowledge of the competitive landscape and conducts analysis on qualified deals including the ability to advise on competitive pricing strategy. 
  • Engages assistance from corporate resources to support Opportunity development including Marketing, Contracts, Recruiting, and Pricing. 
  • Presents regular status on portfolio of opportunities to senior and executive leadership to share deal progress and advancement through the opportunity lifecycle; identifies challenges with potential mitigations. 
  • Demonstrates deep understanding of federal contracting as a prime contractor, as a sub contractor, as part of a JV, in the full and open environment and small business environment. 
  • Regularly audit your pipeline to ensure opportunities don't stall at any stage of the lifecycle. 
  • Ability to cultivate and maintain new customer and partner relationships. 
  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with partners, particularly small businesses; ensuring that there’s a proper handoff between the sales and delivery teams. 
  • Experience developing a 24-36 month pipeline with both close-in and multi-year opportunities. 
  • Demonstrated experience developing and executing call plans and managing and completing other full-lifecycle business development workstreams. 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and 10 years of experience; relevant experience may be substitutes for education 
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, ability to professionally represent Aptive in front of clients, partners, and senior/executive Aptive leaders to advance opportunities 
  • Strong and proven experience across Federal Civilian agencies 

Desired Qualifications

  • Deep relationships, understanding of how to win work and proven experience with one or more of the following: 
  • Department of Veterans Affairs 
  • Other Civilian Health 
  • Military Health 
  • Other Civilian Agencies (DHS, DOE, DOT) 
  • Experience with joint ventures (JVs), Small Business Innovation Research (SBIRs), and Other Transaction Authority (OTAs)
