About This Position

We are seeking a Senior Product Systems Safety Architect with a focus on Functional Safety to join our Advanced Development organization at our Indiana Technical Center in Carmel, IN. This role is pivotal in leading the development of system components for autonomous embedded systems.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Analyze Functional Safety Requirements to develop Technical Safety Concepts and Technical Safety Requirements in collaboration with engineering teams.
  • Develop safety architectures in accordance with ISO 26262 standards.
  • Plan and coordinate project functional safety activities.
  • Develop and maintain the safety plan; monitor safety activities to ensure compliance.
  • Lead safety analyses, including FMEDA and FTA.
  • Specify detailed safety requirements, encompassing diagnostics, software, and hardware needs.
  • Ensure implementation and traceability of System Safety Requirements in software and hardware, linked to appropriate safety analysis, design artifacts, and validation artifacts.
  • Collaborate with project managers, development teams, suppliers, and customers on Functional Safety.
  • Coordinate confirmation/verification reviews with product teams to ensure adherence to functional safety standards throughout the product development cycle.
  • Plan and coordinate audits and assessments with product teams.
  • Analyze customer and internal requirements regarding cybersecurity and define necessary design measures.
  • Evaluate existing hardware and software solutions for ECU protection.
  • Develop cybersecurity solutions for multi-domain ECUs.
  • Support development teams in the implementation, integration, and testing of security mechanisms.
  • Engage with strategic partners regarding potential security concepts during the product offering phase.
  • Drive process, procedure, and methodology improvements to enhance work efficiency.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5 years of professional experience in the Automotive Industry or Consumer Electronics.
  • 3 years of relevant experience in:
    • Application of the ISO 26262 Standard
    • System reliability analysis: FMEA, FMEDA, FTA
    • Development of cybersecurity solutions
    • Architecture and Systems Engineering
    • Requirements analysis
  • Proven record of taking customer requirements from design to production.
  • Familiarity with microprocessor/DSP-based hardware designs and software architectures.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's or PhD Degree in Engineering.
  • Knowledge of Automotive SPICE.
  • Experience with requirements management tools (e.g., Polarion, DOORS).
  • Familiarity with embedded development environments.
  • Knowledge of driver assistance systems (radar and/or camera technology).
  • Experience with Active or Passive Safety Systems design.
  • Understanding of hardware/software interfaces and communication protocols.
  • Knowledge of communication protocols such as CAN, CAN-FD, FlexRay, Ethernet.
  • Expertise in Cyber Security (Encryption, Transport Layer Security, Wireless Communication Protection, Firewalls, etc.).
  • Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering.
  • Experience with Medini Analyze.
  • Strong communication skills for conveying complex ideas effectively.
  • Excellent leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-motivated, organized, flexible, and capable of handling complex issues.
  • Ability to multi-task and work collaboratively in a team environment.

Summary:

The Program Analyst / Start Center Coordinator at Aptiv, you will be responsible for driving consistency and delivering results that will support Aptiv's growth in the automotive and commercial vehicle industry. Your role will focus on overseeing design requests, quote and appropriation requests, and coordinating with various departments within the organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee Regional Aptiv Start Center design initiation request activities, including coordinating review meetings, managing system work assignments, and capturing and distributing meeting decisions.
  • Perform initial screening of submitted requests for content, completeness, and timing, and provide necessary feedback.
  • Act as the regional administrator for F3X, Change Request, and GPO for Capacity and Tool transfers, providing training and support to the user base.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives of the online F3X system, ensuring it is kept up-to-date and free from inactive requests.
  • Generate and maintain metric reports on the Start Center system to ensure the delivery of high-quality services.
  • Coordinate and manage the regional Portfolio Expansion Review Board (PXRB) quote and appropriation request (PRG/AR) review meetings, ensuring all stakeholders are aligned, and issues are resolved.
  • Act as the regional administrator for F3X, Change Request, and GPO for Capacity and Tool transfers.

Must Haves (Basic Qualifications):

  • Bachelor's degree in business, computer science (data management/analysis) or engineering discipline (electrical, systems, computer science, software, computer or related field of study)
  • 3 years of experience with program management, analyst support, or data management
  • Strong project management skills, with a proven track record of delivering complex programs on time and within budget.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Experience with F3X, Change Request, and GPO for Capacity and Tool transfers is preferred.
