Job Overview :

The Grounds Laborer will perform work in accordance with the PWS requirements of the Branch, , mowing, raking, weed abatement, tree trimming, weed eating, planting of shrubs, trees (up to 6 feet), grass, fertilizing, street maintenance and policing of areas listed in the PWS.

Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities :

• Perform a wide variety of labor tasks involved in the maintenance of facilities, street maintenance equipment and grounds at the Fort Irwin National Training Center.
• Labor tasks provided to assist trades people in the repair and maintenance of facilities, equipment, and grounds at the Fort Irwin National Training Center and occasionally the Barstow Dagget Airfield.
• Participation in all APTIM / HDSS EHS and Quality procedures.
• Must be able to act professionally in the presence of the public and co-workers.
• Must be able to accurately track time, work orders, and parts using electronic devices.

Basic Qualifications :

• Education : High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Experience : Working knowledge of landscaping equipment.
• Licenses : Must possess a valid California driver's license.

Working Conditions : Position : Extensive periods outdoors. Frequent exposure to dust, desert pollen, extreme heat and cold

associated with desert environment and natural conditions existing on Fort Irwin.

Work Week : Monday Friday, 0700-1530
