Seeking a Nuclear Operations Instructor to properly implement and document the SAT process, promote industrial safety and contribute to organizational effectiveness.

You will:

• Analyze subject material for new and revised training.
• Use the design process to determine job performance measures (JPMs), establish training settings, sequence training objectives, and identify test items from the objectives.
• Develop lessons for classroom and laboratory settings, JPM performance evaluations, and test questions.
• Implement developed training by being prepared to present the material and ensuring the instructional facilities and resources are adequate and ready to provide a quality learning experience.
• Evaluate training process by the collection of data, including test results, feedback, and the performance of post training evaluations.
• Model and reinforce management expectations and engaging students in classrooms and labs to improve the safety culture.
• Apply human performance tools and provide coaching to reinforce safety behaviors utilizing the Nuclear Power Plant Site Standards Handbook.
• Include ALARA topics that cover minimizing exposure and contaminations in classroom and lab material and discussions.
• Encourage and facilitate employee involvement in the training process.
• Ensure that classroom and laboratory housekeeping models management expectations.
• Model and reinforce management expectations for the use of human performance tools and techniques to include coaching and acknowledging students when appropriate.
• Contribute to the outage performance and duration by holding an outage position (when requested and supported by management).
• Obtain and maintain instructor qualifications, certifications, and technical proficiency.
• Perform management observations; in training settings as well as in the plant
• Perform emergency response organization duties.

Pay: $100/hour on a W2 basis (eligible to participate in medical/dental/vision benefits)

Start: First week of June
Duration: 6 months (40 hours per week; 4 days at 10/hours per day)
Location: Avila Beach, CA (San Luis Obispo area) 100% onsite.

Requirements:

• 5 years of experience in Nuclear Plant Operations or Operations training department.
• INPO instructor certificate
• Instructor experience in adult learning environment with demonstrated experience in instructional development
• Nuclear Instructor Training and Nuclear Industry training experience.
• Strong presentation skills and strong oral and written communication skills
• Basic familiarity with SAP
• Basic Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills
• Demonstrated experience in using a word processing software
