Working location is Boone, NC, but will consider remote location within reasonable driving distance to Boone, NC.Perform basic administrative procedures including processing paperwork, ensuring it is accurate and complete, answering phones, filing documents, scanning and organizing files using a standard filing protocol, maintaining office organization, and supporting CAP staff with basic office functions as needed.Apply considerable knowledge of government accounting methods, program laws and regulations, procedures, and accounting practices needed to perform the work. Apply the knowledge in a variety of technology, financial systems and packages to create and maintain data. Develop formulas for basic spreadsheets. Maintain ongoing communication with partners to include county financial officers with an understanding of school district policies and procedures. Attention to detail, organization, setting and meeting deadlines, and always remaining audit-ready are required. Effective collaboration skills are essential to working with the team, within administration. Position requires effective analyzing, examining, tracking, inquiring, and ensuring deadlines are met for match and reimbursement packets, which are submitted on a monthly basis from 11 different counties across western North Carolina. Critical thinking skills are necessary to provide regular recommendations for improved efficiencies in processes and procedures. An operational mindset is required.
