Applied Systems, Inc., a worldwide leader in insurance technology, is currently searching for a talented and passionate Sr. Software Engineer (C# or Golang) to join our Platform Team as we create innovative web applications and web services for the insurance industry. In an Agile environment, you will design and maintain software with Golang and .Net Core as we build and scale backend services. You will be responsible for developing and iterating solutions integrating multiple Applied Systems products.

What You Will Do 

• Design and implement high-quality technical solutions to provide business value, utilizing object-oriented principles, design patterns, and testing practices
• Design user-based interactions through effective front-end architecture
• Design and implement RESTful services and APIs
• Integrate with 3rd party APIs
• Mentor others by sharing technical knowledge and recommending solutions
• Provide comprehensive feedback in design reviews and code reviews

• Ensure the entire stack is designed and built for security, speed, and scalability
• Identify and implement improvements to increase productivity on the team, contributing to internal documentation to support the team

• Author code aligned with standards for style, maintainability, and best practices and collaborate with architects or others to confirm technical solutions

What You’ll Need to Succeed 

We’re looking for someone who: 

• Can work 100% remotely, or from an Applied Systems office

Your experience should include some or all of the following: 

• 5 years of professional experience building web applications and web services using one or more of the following: C# or Golang

• Front-end experience with React, HTML, CSS, TypeScript, JavaScript, or Angular
• Proficiency in working with Rest APIs
• Knowledge of web development cycle and programming techniques and tools
• Experience developing in a public cloud such as Azure, AWS, or GCP
• Experience with back-end programming
• Proficiency with microservice architecture, event-driven programming, async design
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent problem-solving abilities
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, MIS, or CIS, or equivalent work experience

• Understanding of OAuth and OIDC
• Git and continuous integration best practices
• Understanding and implementation of security and data protection
• Experience with Docker and deployment to Kubernetes
