Applied Ecology, Inc. is Hiring an Environmental Compliance Project Manager Near Melbourne, FL

Overview:
App0lieed Ecology is seeking a qualified environmental compliance project manager with federal experience. This position will be supporting federal facilities throughout the southeast US with compliance plans, inspections, reporting, and record-keeping associated with various environmental permits and compliance requirements. Strong candidates will have a strong technical knowledge of environmental permitting including CWA, SDWA, RCRA, CERCLA, CAA, among others and be skilled at federal and other intergovernmental communications. The position will support diverse environmental compliance and project requirements under a variety of environmental regulations, compliance auditing support, and project management.

  • Responsibilities:

Plans and manages project staffing requirements, reports project performance, and identifies and addresses scope creep, schedule, or quality issues to ensure successful delivery of assigned federal environmental compliance projects.

  • Peer reviews and quality assures project deliverables to ensure AEI’s high-quality requirements are consistently met.
  • Continues to expand AEI’s current business relationships with our government clients and teaming partners.
  • Leads / reviews the development of technical submittals including letters, technical reports, figures, and tables.
  • Communicates with various government clients, subcontractors, utilities, and regulating agencies.
  • Writes scope documents including white papers and ROMs in response to specific client task requests.
  • Works directly with and manages marketing and proposal teams to create proposals and respond to requests for qualifications.
  • Provides leadership to the junior to mid-level compliance team members.
  • Acts as advisor to the team regarding projects, tasks, and operations.
  • Assists with expanding the federal environmental compliance and resiliency service lines.
  • Occasionally travels to client sites for project investigations, definition workshops, field site visits, and project meetings.
  • Advocates for excellence and quality in overall federal environmental compliance program and all project deliverables; works proactively with federal clients to identify expectations and achieve Very Good to Exceptional CPAR ratings.
  • Applies a practical knowledge of scientific principles and/or engineering methods, techniques, and historical project data to ensure project requirements are complete.
  • Prepares accurate technical reports, inspections, work plans, proposals, and presentations.

Requirements:

  • B.S. or B.A. in environmental engineering, geology, or relevant science/engineering from an accredited institution.
  • 10 years of experience working in environmental compliance on federal facilities.
  • Experience working directly with federal clients.
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication and presentation skills.
  • Excellent project management skills.
  • Proficient using Microsoft Office suite and Adobe products.
  • Ability to collaboratively problem-solve with stakeholders, clients, and peers.
  • Must possess a valid Florida Driver's license and maintain a clean driving record.
  • Must be able to pass a drug test and background check.
  • Must have U.S. Citizenship as required by Federal contract.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Direct DOD experience preferred.
  • Five years in project management of contracts >$500K.
  • Experience supervising staff.
  • Federal contracting experience.
