The Applied Networking team provides the frameworks to power interconnecting Apple devices to unlock sharing, collaboration, secure connections, and more! These frameworks provide API surfaces that enable Apple products such as iMessage, FaceTime, HomeKit, SharePlay, Apple Watch, AirDrop, and more to develop technologies and craft experiences that revolutionize the way people interact with their devices. The team is seeking a passionate leader to help build the next generation of frameworks and networking technologies that will power various Apple products.
Key Qualifications
- Past experience mentoring junior team members, building/growing a strong and diverse team, promoting healthy team culture, driving process improvements, and supporting career growth of team members.
- Proven track record of owning and leading delivery of projects, providing subject matter expertise in a functional domain, and running engineering processes.
- Experience in building strong partnerships with product owners, cross-function partners and business stakeholders, and demonstrating an ability to influence, resolve conflicts, and drive results.
- Technical experience with core networking concepts development and a strong grasp of computer science fundamentals
- Ability to drive forward through various constraints and ambiguity on difficult problems to make sound decisions
- Strong communication skills and the ability to influence cross functionally.
- A passion for solving everyday problems in innovative ways
Description
As manager of the team you’ll have the opportunity to work with experts in their field to build new and expand on existing frameworks within the Applied Networking team that power communication & connectivity across all Apple devices, including public frameworks. This position requires a self-motivated individual with strong technical, communication, and project management skills to handle responsibilities including: Defining product features, functional specs, resource planning, and development schedulesScoping and prioritizing features and bug fixesRepresenting the team and its technology in technical and project meetingsAdvise and encourage engineering best practices to deliver quality featuresDefine and grow a diverse and world class engineering team
Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent domain with 5 years experience, at least 3 years experience managing individual contributors.

Pay & Benefits
- At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $200,300 and $346,300, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple’s Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
