Apple Early Learning Center is seeking a dynamic and experienced Childcare Center Director to lead our team and ensure the highest standards of care and education for children enrolled in our center. The ideal candidate will be passionate about early childhood education, possess strong leadership skills, and have a proven track record of managing a childcare facility efficiently.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the daily operations of the childcare center, including staffing, scheduling, and curriculum development.
• Ensure compliance with all state and local regulations related to childcare facilities.
• Develop and implement policies and procedures to maintain a safe and nurturing environment for children.
• Recruit, train, and evaluate childcare staff, providing ongoing support and professional development opportunities.
• Foster positive relationships with parents, addressing their concerns and communicating regularly about their child's progress.
• Manage the center's budget and financial operations, including tuition collection and expense management.
• Collaborate with community organizations, and leaders to enhance program offerings and support the needs of families.
• Stay current on best practices in early childhood education and incorporate them into the center's programming.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field;
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a leadership role within a childcare center or preschool setting.
• Knowledge of state licensing requirements and regulations governing childcare facilities.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with children, parents, and staff members.
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
• CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hiring).
• Drivers License.

Education

● Associate degree in early childhood with min of 15 semester hours of approve course work OR

Bachelor’s degree in any field

Course Work

● 90 hours approved early childhood coursework OR have CDA issued by the state of Maryland.

OR:

Approved by the Maryland State Dept. of Education as a teacher for Nursery – Grade 3

OR:

Hold ateaching certificate for MSDE or another state for same.

Experience

● Min of 2 years working with preschoolers in an approved licensed program or recreation or parks program

OR if approved or certified to teach, 1 year of experience with preschoolers in a approved setting

Additional Requirements

● At least 9 clock hours of approved training in communication with staff, parents and the public

● 40-45 clock hours or the equivalent of approved administrative training

● 45 clock hours infant and toddler course

● Approved supporting breastfeeding practices

● 3 clock hours in ADA Compliance
