Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
  • Two to three years of fundraising experience
License/Certification Required

  • Master's degree from an accredited college or university
  • Experience in major gift fundraising and donor relations
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
This position serves to elevate the overall financial position of the App State Athletics Department. Through hospitality efforts at events, collaboration with various institutional entities and in the community, the Director of Development - Major Gifts has a primary role in serving donors and business entities that drive financial participation by building mutually beneficial relationships.
The position is responsible for carrying a major gift portfolio and raising funds for capital projects. With a thorough understanding of donor cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship - the Director of Development - Major Gifts will oversee the Mountaineer Athletic Fund Internship Program and Staff, Planned Giving Society, and exclusive programming for Major Gift donor cultivation in the region. The position supports the Associate AD for Development in capital facilities planning and naming rights efforts.
