Appalachian Regional Healthcare is Hiring a Desktop Architect Near Lexington, KY

Overview

The Desktop Architect will serve as the subject matter expert for the design, implementation, and sustainability of the end-user computing platforms for desktops, laptops, and tablets for ARH. This individual will play a leading part in workplace transformation and deployment projects and work with IT leadership to define and implement the end-user computing vision and strategy through collaboration with technical and business partners.

Responsibilities

- Working as part of a team, ensure end-users are being provided the highest quality user experience - Act as the SME through the design, implementation, and support of solutions with Windows Desktop.- Working with Cyber Security, Data Center, and Operations teams, implement solutions within approved technology toolsets that are reliable and scalable, allowing the organization to meet overall needs for current growth and future needs- Build standard application packages and deploy them onto workstations- Create/maintain/test/deploy workstation images across the organization - Ensure workstation compliance is satisfactory to ARH standards - Manage monthly workstation security patching- Create and maintain automated application deployment packages- Develop software installation scripts and provide code reviews for complex software installations- Help manage ticket queue for IT Asset Management Team - Serve as an escalation point for break-fix tickets for imaging, desktop software deployment, and security patching issues - Assist as needed in the ITAM lifecycle tracking - Creating and updating technical documentation to ensure appropriate knowledge transfer for operations and support desk staff. - Provides strategic advice to the Director of IT Assessment Management and is viewed as the technical expert for all assigned software and applications for the end-user experience.- Monitors current and future trends in technology that will positively affect organizational projects.- Identifies, prioritizes and addresses security risks to protect ARH information and information systems from unauthorized access, use, disclosure, disruption, modification, or destruction.- Maintains confidentiality, integrity, and availability of ARH information.- Complies with applicable internal and external policies, standards, laws, and regulations related to ARH information.- Performs other related duties, tasks, and responsibilities as required or assigned.

Qualifications

Education- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Technology, Management Information Systems, or related discipline - Equivalent experience and education may be considered- Certifications in relevant technologies may be substituted for bachelor’s degree

Minimum Work Experience- 5 years of general IT experience - 2 years years of experience in Microsoft Windows technology

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical team members- Strong understanding of computer hardware components and functions and basic networking knowledge - Excellent verbal and written communication skills- Willing and able to work as part of a collaborative team- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities- Ability to develop new techniques for improving user experience- Knowledge and understanding of modern cloud mobile and desktop management technology- Ability to take the initiative and complete assignments, after the initial direction, to completion- Ability to take the initiative with 3rd party vendors and hosting providers to escalate and resolve application issues to minimize any business impact- Knowledge of Microsoft infrastructure technologies, including Active Directory, systems management, group policy, and Microsoft Systems Center Configuration Management
