Appalachian Community Services is Hiring a Peer Support Specialist Near Hayesville, NC

We are seeking full-time Peer Support Specialist for our Hayesville, NC Office and to provide the following services:

  • Provide community-based service for adults age eighteen and older who have a mental illness or a substance abuse disorder.
  • Provide scheduled activities that promote recovery, self-determination, self-advocacy, and enhancement of community living skills.
  • Provide wellness education via teaching problem solving, anger management, and other life skills.

Qualifications:

  • A high school diploma or GED
  • Peer Support Certification
  • Valid driver's license to be able to transport consumers
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check
