Apostolic Christian Restmor in Morton is currently looking for a full-time Nursing Scheduler!

Position Summary:

The Nursing Scheduler is responsible for creating and updating nurse and CNA schedules, working to fill open shifts with unscheduled staff, and communicating staffing plans to staff and supervisors.

Essential Duties:

• Creates, audits, and publishes nurse and CNA schedules no less than two weeks prior to the schedule start date
• Contacts staff directly to fill open shifts, moving staff hall assignments as needed when vacancies occur
• Communicates shift vacancies to DON & ADON at least one week prior to the date of vacancy
• Prints and distributes daily CNA assignment sheets
• Manages the daily census
• Offers and tracks nurse and CNA bonus and premium pay shifts
• Orients new staff on the use of the scheduling system, serving as the point of contact for all staff on issues with that system
• Creates staffing templates & training assignments for all new staff, scheduling computer-based training shifts prior to the start of on-the-floor training shifts
• Audits scheduling templates to ensure accuracy
• Maintains a holiday rotation to ensure equitable holidays worked by staff members
• Promptly communicates schedule change requests received with DON and ADON, adjusting the schedule as needed when approved
• Responds to staff PTO requests within one week of employee submission
• Communicates with seasonal employees to determine start and end dates of their availability during holidays and summers
• Communicates with the nurse supervisors, in advance, if they are needed to work the floor during their shift
• Tracks PRN CNA hours, notifying Human Resources when an employee does not meet their required hours for the month
• Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Must be proficient in basic computer systems including Microsoft Word and Excel
• Ability to see, hear, and speak required
• Must be able to type at least 40 words per minute
• Excellent planning, organization, and communication skills required
• Positive attitude and caring approach required
• This is a full-time position for 32-40 hours per week. Candidates must be available to work 8:00am-4:30pm on weekdays.

Physical Demands:

This position requires prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer and a phone. Frequent typing, reading, and writing required.
