We are currently searching for a talented Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant to join our team! You will use your clinical and interpersonal skills to provide the highest quality of care to our patients in a skilled nursing facility in Staten Island, NY. The ideal provider is confident, compassionate, and committed to delivering quality healthcare to the elderly population.

Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner Responsibilities

• Perform patients rounds
• Performing physical exams and patient observations.
• Recording patients' medical histories and symptoms.
• Creating patient care plans and contributing to existing ones.
• Ordering, administering, and analyzing diagnostic tests.
• Diagnosing health issues and sharing it with the physician on call.
• Administering medicine and other treatments.
• Detecting changes in patients' health and modifying treatment plans, as needed.
• Consulting with healthcare professionals and families.
• Training patients and their caregivers to manage and prevent illness and injury.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records using electronic health record system

Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner Requirements

• The ability to commute to Staten Island NY with own means of transportation
• PMHNP/Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner License in the state of NY
• Minimum 1 year of experience as a practicing Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner
• Ability to communicate important health information effectively and compassionately.
• Good interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate well with the elderly.
• Good bedside manner
