Apogee Engineering is Hiring a CORP - Contracts Manager Near Beavercreek, OH

Apogee has an opening at our Dayton, OH office for a Contracts Manager. The Contracts Manager plays a critical role within Apogee in support of our government customers, to oversee contracts throughout their lifecycle. The right candidate will have an eye for the FAR and all its supplements, is organized and detail oriented, and ready to put their expertise to work supporting complex projects.

What you will be doing:

  • Review complex solicitations and prepare a specialized and/or non-routine response for proposals, bids, and contract modifications.
  • Analyze significant and/or unique contract requirements, special provisions, terms, and conditions to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and corporate policies and department procedures.
  • Provide contractual guidance to operations team members for appropriate Statement of Work.
    • Manages contract change control process.
  • Develop negotiation strategy and leads negotiation team on complex contractual issues.
  • Assist in new business pursuit and associated contract strategy.
  • Participate in the development of business alliances and partnership agreements.
  • Communicate with Business Development, Capture Management, Proposal Management, Pricing, Operations management teams: Task Leaders, Program Managers, Operations Directors, Customer and Supplier Contracting and Legal departments, and Executive Leadership.

What you will need to have:

  • Security Clearance Required: Secret (or eligibility to obtain required clearance)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or other similar concentration with 8 years' relevant experience or Master’s degree in Business or similar concentration with 6 years' relevant experience
  • Certified Federal Contracts Manager (CFCM) or Certified Commercial Contracts Manager (CCCM) highly preferred
  • Deltek Costpoint experience is a plus
  • Ability to draft moderate to complex, non-routine contract documents
  • Knowledge of corporate policies and procedures coupled with the ability to identify required improvement to established policies
  • Knowledge of contracting concepts of public contract acquisition law and regulations
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
  • Presentation, leadership, and team-building skills
  • Independent judgment and creativity applied to the resolution of contract issues
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • General understanding of the business case and an appreciation of financial/analytical issues and profit and loss implications
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Outlook, and SharePoint required

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Apogee offers two medical plans, a high deductible health plan with an HSA and HRA and a traditional POS plan with co-pays, dental, vision, 401(k), life insurance, PTO, paid holidays, parental, military, and jury duty paid leaves. Regular part-time employees scheduled for twenty-four or more hours per work week are eligible for benefits on a pro-rated basis.
  • This position is eligible for a discretionary annual bonus.
