APL Associates is a social service agency that uses a holistic approach and focuses on both job specific and the intangibles that might affect job readiness and success.

APL is seeking a Pre Employment Skills Trainer to work in specific Bergen, Essex and Hudson Counties.

Job Details: Mainly working with high school age population in small group setting or 1:1 on site at school, teaching Pre Vocational Skills to students. Skills Trainer will also be working with student internships, discovering placements and job coaching students.

Position requires: An Associates Degree (Bachelors Preferred) and experience working with individuals with Developmental Disabilities (Preferred) , driver’s license, and a car are (required).

• Provides hands on employment training to individuals with Developmental and Intellectual Disabilities
• Ensures that required documentation is complete and is in compliance with State regulations.
• Develop and maintain relationships with employers and schools .
• Support clients with job searching skills, such as creating a resume, cover letter and references.
• Work with clients on job applications, interview skills, complete mock interviews, and attend interviews if needed.
• Complete Intake paperwork and vocational interview for new referrals.
• Complete Daily work logs
• Spanish skills a plus
