The Opportunity: Are you looking for an opportunity to advance your experience in implementing security solutions and strategies that will safeguard our nation? As a Communications Security ( COMSEC ) systems engineer, you can identify the tools, devices, and applications needed to assess vulnerabilities and recommend the best solution and security strategy. We need your experience to develop and implement security solutions that will protect our military. On our team, you'll troubleshoot and analyze complex challenges for customers using your knowledge of tactical communications products and policies . You'll use your curiosity for te chn ology and market trends to further research and develop secure, interoperable, and resilient tactical capabilities. Using your experience in complying with DoD cybersecurity and information assurance practices, and conformance with cryptographic modernization program initiatives, you'll help assess security threats. In this role, you'll transform and modernize information assurance capabilities for the 21st century across military services and government agencies. With mentoring, challenging hands-on problem-solving, and opportunities to learn new tools and skills, we focus on growing as a team to make the best solutions for our customers. What You'll Work On: * Lead development and sustainment of processes for Sof tware-Defined Radio ( SDR ) waveform cybersecurity analysis and research emerging methodologies.
* Develop and maintain expertise in current and evolving waveform design approaches that maximize operators' ability to communicate in a contested environment and in the presence of adversary threats.
* C ond uct cybersecurity analysis of candidate waveforms hosted on tactical SDRs, ensuring that all communications security requirements are met.
* Review and curate te chn ical whitepapers and create presentations and reports as needed in support of cybersecurity tasks.
* Maintain te chn ical relationships with product vendors and DoD organizations involved in the acquisition, development, security evaluation, and testing of tactical SDRs and asso cia ted waveforms. You Have: * 2 years of experience with systems engineering, policies , and best practices * 2 years of experience maintaining or attaining accreditation by applying guidelines, standards, and processes for risk management to assess vulnerabilities and secure information systems or communication products * 2 years of experience supporting a DoD Program Management Office ( PMO ) * Knowledge of the design, development, testing, or tactical operational use of DoD tactical waveforms, wireless communications networks, SDRs, and data or network secure communications * Knowledge of DoD COMSEC te chn iques and te chn ologies * Knowledge of DoD te chn ology protection policies and procedures, including Supply Chain Risk Management ( SCRM ) * Secret clearance * HS diploma or GED Nice If You Have: * Experience with the design, development, and testing of hardware, sof tware, firmware, wireless communications networks, and data or network secure communications * Experience with DoD Radio TRANSEC te chn iques and te chn ologies * Experience working with the U.S. Intelligence Community ( IC ) * Knowledge of National Security Systems ( NSS ) policies , instructions, and directives * Knowledge of DoD cryptographic modernization efforts and crypto systems * Knowledge of NIST common vulnerabilities and exposures * Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills * Top Secret clearance * Bachelor's degree in EE, Computer Systems Engineering, Systems Engineering, Sof tware Engineering, CS, Information Systems, IT, Cybersecurity Engineering, Mathematics, or Physics * DoD 8140.01 Cyberspace Workforce Certification, including Network or Certified Cloud Security Professional ( CCSP ) Certification Clearance: Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information ; Secret clearance is required. Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $60,300.00 to $137,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
