We are currently seeking a Director of Global Tax with strong leadership capability who will be responsible for review of global tax accounting, all US international tax reporting, FX hedging tax guidance, global tax planning, M&A, and transfer pricing. This leader will report directly to the VP/Chief Tax Officer and the ideal candidate will have the capability and desire to lead the tax function in the future.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

To include, but not limited to the following:

  • Act as an international tax resource for the tax planning and provision functions
  • Liaise with Corporate Controller and Treasury functions
  • Build effective relationships with tax, finance, and legal colleagues around the globe
  • Maintain technical expertise by being current with changes in industrial and tax legislation
  • Responsible for tax analysis and research related to global tax planning initiatives, cross-border transactions, transfer pricing, and audit activities.
  • Manage outside advisors in connection with key strategic projects and tax planning initiatives.
  • Evaluate tax documents and oversee the preparation of tax returns.
  • Assess the accuracy of tax provisions and implement strategic methods to resolve taxation issues by conducting research on existing tax laws and obligations.
  • Build, lead and mentor a team and interface with accounting and the broader finance team, as well as work closely with external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with leadership to establish and execute M&A strategy including annual growth targets and budgeting/financial planning.
  • Review budget and forecasting function of corporate tax team including cash taxes, non-income taxes, and outside services spend.
  • Responsible for creation and conducting M&A tax related training for both tax and non-tax persons in the Corporate Development, business units and the tax department.
  • Perform other ad hoc work-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 20 years of experience in a tax role, with at least 5 years in a leadership position.
  • Proven experience in international tax, tax planning, M&A, tax provision, and transfer pricing.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master's degree in Taxation or a related field is preferred.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent certification is required.
  • Strong knowledge of global tax laws and regulations.
  • Experience with tax analysis and research related to global tax planning initiatives, cross-border transactions, and audit activities.
  • Proven ability to manage outside advisors and work on strategic projects and tax planning initiatives.

Benefits and Compensation:

This role will be eligible for hybrid work flexibility based out of our New Brighton office. The pay range is $145,000 - $218,000, depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This position is eligible for long-term incentives, annual bonus, and profit sharing based on company performance in addition to other benefits that support the total well-being of you and your family.
