The Multi-Site Cost Accountant is a key finance position supporting the optimization and standardization of cost accounting, general accounting, reporting, planning, and forecasting processes. This role will work closely with Operations teams to provide accurate and timely financial/operational performance reporting designed to improve margins and cash flow. This role will report directly to the North American Operations Controller but also have dotted line relationships to the Controllers of plants in Lexington, SC, Dayton, OH, Auburn Hills, MI, York, PA, Jonesboro, AR, and Sumter, SC.

The Build (Responsibilities)

·Own the initial variance reporting and analysis functions for all North American plants. Reporting includes, but is not limited to, purchase price variances, closed order/production order variances, labor efficiency, expense tracking, and inventory reporting.

·Own the accuracy and completeness (i.e. error rate) of annual cost roll across all North American locations.

·Design new product standard costing for North American plants.

·Complete the day-to-day review of operational transactions, such as MRBR, GR/IR, and cycle count adjustments, to ensure accurate and timely resolution of issues.

·Code A/P invoices, as required, and resolve A/P related issues delaying the timely reporting and payment of vendors.

·Ensure internal controls are followed and implement new controls, with the support of the Controller(s), when necessary.

·Assist with the preparation of daily, weekly, and monthly updates of performance to Operations Leadership.

·Assist the review of labor reporting and costs, material reporting and costs, manufacturing overhead, and inventory levels including manufacturing cost rates by cost center and plant.

·Assist with monthly closing activities, ensuring the timeliness and accuracy of all close procedures.

·Assist in preparing weekly, monthly, and quarterly forecasts.

·Assist the site Finance leads in preparing monthly account reconciliations for applicable accounts.

·Assist with the annual physical inventory, investigate variances, and resolve issues.

·Assist with annual budget process, including development of manufacturing cost center expenses, labor budgets, activity rates for labor and overhead to be used in standard costing.

·Compile capital spend trackers in support of the timely closing of completed projects by working with project leaders and operations managers.

The Toolbox (Qualifications)

·Bachelor’s degree in Accounting strongly preferred (may consider 8 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree). Minimum of 5 years of relative experience required.

·Strong analytical and MS office skills, advanced Excel proficiency.

·Experience with Tableau, Power BI, or similar data gathering and visualization software.

·Strong collaborative and communication skills, ability to build strong networks and the ability to influence others.

·Must be customer-focused (internal and external) and possess the ability to identify issues, analyze and interpret data, develop and implement solutions to a variety of complex problems in multiple plants.

·Proven ability to perform complex financial analysis related to manufacturing activities.

·Demonstrated ability to identify problems, develops solutions, and implements successful, sustainable process changes that improve accuracy, efficiency and timeliness.

·Strong systems experience – prior experience with an ERP (SAP required) and Hyperion (preferred).

·Demonstrates a high sense of urgency and drive for results.
