Job Description:

POSITION SUMMARY:
Apex Systems has a 6 months, contract to hire Jr. Network Administrator opening to perform monitoring and related tasks in support of the one of our government clients. Must be able to work 3rd shift hours. Pay Rate starts at $20/hr., DOE.
Day to day Responsibilities include:

• Demonstrate strong problem solving and communication skills.
• Ability to follow documented processes and provide recommendations for process improvement.
• Demonstrate ability to document issues and escalate as required based on impact to Enterprise Services.
• Ability to perform maintenance tasks and document results.
• Ability to update daily task logs and event tracking.
• Ability to update status reports.
• Ability to coordinate events with supporting teams and report status updates.

MINIMUM REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• CompTIA Security CE
• Experience using server and service level monitoring software.
• Experience using an enterprise ticketing system.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating systems and Microsoft based applications and technologies.
• Ability to perform system administration functions from an operational run book.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrate capacity for organization and prioritization in a dynamically changing environment.
• Demonstrate ability to work as an effective team member.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• ITIL v3 Foundations Certification
• CCNA
