APEX PLUMBING is Hiring a Diesel Mechanic - $1500 TOOL INCENTIVE Near Arvada, CO

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Responsible for the proper working and compliance of the company’s tools, equipment and vehicles. Equipment items that are the responsibility of the mechanic include hand tools, safety equipment, shoring, fuel cans, keys, trailers, backhoes, dump trucks, fleet vans, box vans, pickup trucks and any tools or equipment used for the completion of any job done by the company.
  • Keeps equipment available for use by completing preventative maintenance such as engine tune-ups, oil changes, tire rotations and changes, replacing filters.
  • Regular communication with the shop manager regarding the status of equipment repairs, items that need to be replaced, determining time frames for service dates (downtime possibly affecting daily operations), and determining priority for expenditures.
  • Attend to driver concerns, conducting equipment inspections and responding according to assessment.
  • Update the service records for each item. Ensure all equipment has been maintained according to its maintenance schedule. 
  • Give all purchase paperwork/receipts/service agreements/warranties to proper personnel.
  • Ensure all equipment and items are in compliance with state, federal, DOT, and OSHA safety standard requirements.
  • Respond to all equipment emergencies and find a solution in the most efficient and affordable way to prevent down time on jobs
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements: 

  • High school diploma is preferred; Certification from a vocational school or completion of apprenticeship is preferred
  • 3 Years of automotive repair experience
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Excellent knowledge of mechanical, electrical and electronic components of relevant vehicles, equipment, tools, etc.
  • Working knowledge of vehicle diagnostic systems and methods
  • Willingness to observe all safety precautions for protections against accidents, dangerous fluids, chemicals etc.
  • Excellent communication and organization skills
  • One or more Medium/Heavy Truck ASE Certifications and Class A CDL preferred
  • Must possess necessary tools to perform assigned tasks
  • Knowledge of the use and operation of testing equipment, gauges and tools associated with vehicle troubleshooting and repairs
  • Basic computer skills including maintenance programs, and diagnostic systems
  • Basic knowledge of gas and diesel engines
  • Familiarity with precision measurement instruments, oxygen/acetylene equipment, and lifting devices (bottle, floor, wheel, or transmission jacks, floor cranes, etc.) preferred.
  • Ability to safely operate vehicles equipped with manual and automatic transmission
  • Ability to enter and exit driver’s compartment of truck and/or behind cab using normally available foot and handholds
  • Ability to work independently and/or as a team member

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 120 lbs.
  • Ability to work in all conditions (company, job site, road)
