Apex Plastics is Hiring an Utility Technician Near Brookfield, MO

Position: Utility Technician

Shifts: D1

# of positions available: 1

Summary: Responsible for the operation of the Grinding Room production-based material

handling systems, keeping raw material flowing to the production machines. Responsible for reduction of scrap and waste.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the set-up & operation of multiple makes and models of blending
  • systems to obtain the proper color bottle.
  • Fill dye in blenders as needed.
  • Check and clean dust collector once per shift. Check and clean out blenders, grinders,
  • and bins as needed on the production floor and in the grinding room.
  • Label blenders with dye tags. Label regrind bin on blender side.
  • Check regrinds at the beginning of every shift. Maintain the required level of regrind
  • during the shift.
  • Fill out Blender Set-Up Log daily and record required information.
  • Make sure outside grounds are clean, being sure that silo pads and dumpster area are
  • free of resin and regrind
  • Manage material to reduce left over materials at the end of runs.
  • Maintain extra regrind in cardboard barrels – place label on top of lid.
  • CLEAN the grinding room. Clean filters on hopper loaders every shift.
  • Do minor maintenance of machinery in the Grinding Room.
  • Comply with OSHA Safety and Health regulations and maintain clean and orderly work
  • areas.
  • Help with production related tasks as necessary.
  • Performs other related duties and assignments as required.

Requirements:

  • Ability to stand, walk, stoop, bend and lift up to 75 pounds for long periods of time.
  • Can involve a dirty, dusty, greasy, noisy environment

Education/Experience:

  • Requires the completion of high school or a GED certificate

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 36 per week
