The Archdiocese Diocese of Baltimore is seeking to qualified candidates for the Coordinator for Archdiocesan Music. She/he will report to the Director, Office of Divine Worship, Archdiocesan and Cathedral Music Ministries. This individual will assist the Director of the Office of Divine Worship in organizing and facilitating meetings and activities of the Archdiocesan Music Commission.

Essential Functions:

• Recruit musicians for Archdiocesan liturgies on an ongoing basis.
• Schedule and assist the director with regularly scheduled rehearsals of the Archdiocesan Choir.
• Prepare contracts and prepare check requests for instrumentalists, section leaders, and vocal soloists, and vendors as required.
• When needed, provide specific training and preparation of individual cantors, accompanists and other instrumentalists for Archdiocesan liturgies.
• Create and maintain a viable network of instrumentalists and singers for Archdiocesan events.
• Assist with the development and maintenance of an Archdiocesan music library.
• Distribute music prior to rehearsal per instruction by music director.
• Assist on site with all Archdiocesan liturgies and workshops for music ministers.
• Assist with set up and break down after each archdiocesan liturgies and formation events.

Position Qualifications:

• Roman Catholic in sacramental union with the Church.
• Degree in Music and Liturgy or equivalent experience. Minimum of 3 years-experience in a similar position.
• Necessary reputation and ability to recruit choral personnel and instrumentalists.
• Thorough knowledge of choral directing, teaching and implementation of various instrumental and choral combinations.
• Knowledge of Roman Catholic liturgy and various styles and periods of liturgical music.
• Proficiency in at least one performance instrument and knowledge of other musical instruments for liturgical use.
• Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite, Finale (or other music notation software), InDesign (or other desktop publishing program).
• Ability to conduct instrumental and choral ensembles when necessary.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Fluency in Spanish (in addition to English) preferred.
