Role Summary

The Design Intern for our Artist Collaborations Design team will support the team in the overall design and development of new home products with inspiration from our collaborators. This includes sketching and specifications for the products. The ideal candidate will have a strong enthusiasm for home product development including an understanding of surface pattern design, industrial design, graphic design, and packaging.

Role Responsibilities

• Assist team with research, concept development, and design execution for artist collaboration projects on home products. This includes:
  • Sketching initial design ideas based on artist inspiration and market trends.
  • Collaborating on technical specifications to ensure product feasibility.
• Create mood boards, presentations, and other design collateral to visually communicate product concepts.
• Assist with maintaining design files and organization.
• Utilize Adobe Creative Suite programs relevant to home product development. 
• Stay up-to-date on current design trends and artistic movements.

Role Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a design or art program (or recent graduate) with an interest in home product development.
• Strong visual communication and design sense, with a specific interest in graphic design and potentially surface pattern design.
• Enthusiasm for home product development and an understanding of basic industrial design principles.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Passion for art and a strong understanding of various artistic styles.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite programs.
