Special Education Teacher for the 2022-2023 School YearThe Role:We are hiring a full-time Special Education Teacher who will teach students in 5^th-8^th grade in Walker, MI. We are looking for a professional who is dedicated to supporting students with special needs so that they can reach their fullest potential. The ideal candidate will be excited to be a part of the community within the school and is passionate about using their skills to make real, positive change.Caseload Details:There are 17 students on the caseload and eligibilities include speech and language delays and cognitive impairments. These students receive both push-in and pull-out services throughout the day.Hours:
This is a full-time position starting August 16^th going through June 7^th.

• Utilize various accommodations and modifications to the core curriculum to facilitate student learning
• Develop lessons to ensure that all the diverse needs of the students are considered
• Maintain a structured learning environment to promote student success
• Provide training and coaching as necessary to assist with implementing strategies to help students progress
• Create and administer assessments to track student goals and performance
• Monitor student progress according to each student’s IEP
• Attend professional meetings and facilitate follow-up sessions at the school level as necessary
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited College or University
• Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate
• Special Education Endorsement
