If you love working in schools and are passionate about helping communities through social work, we want to hear from you!Position Overview: We have a unique full-time School Social Worker opening with our wonderful school partners in Maywood! This position will support a caseload of around 25-30 students within a therapeutic day school. Students here have been diagnosed with severe social/emotional disabilities. The social worker will provide supportive and individualized mental health services to support academic success in the least restrictive environment. Students would participate in individual and group therapy, with the goal of transferring back to their home schools. The Social Worker would have access to their own dedicated office space and would partner with the school psychologist, speech-language pathologist, occupational therapist etc. If you are passionate about working with higher-need populations and enjoy working collaboratively in the school, we want you to apply! Job Responsibilities:
Provide support (whole group, small group, 1:1) to identified students with emotional and social disabilities
Implement crisis intervention strategies to ensure student safety and success of students
Advocate for the well-being of students (social/emotional/academic)
Cross-functional collaboration with teachers and families to understand how to best meet student needs
Provide push-in services as needed
Facilitate IEP meetings
Create and maintain interventions in order to understand the effectiveness of IEPs
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Master’s (MSW) or Doctoral degree in Social Work
LMSW license eligible in the State of Illinois
Previous experience in a K-12 setting preferred
