School Adjustment Counselor: 2022-2023 School Year

Position Overview:

We have a full-time School Adjustment Counselor opening with our fantastic school partners in Salem! This elementary focused position will be supporting the schools ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) program. This position will be providing services to students with IEPs in a variety of environments including push in, pull out, and self-contained. In this position, AnthroMed will be with you every step of the way; providing support and resources to best meet your students’ needs.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage an IEP (ASD focus) caseload through social, emotional, and academic enrichment programs
  • Advocate for the emotional, social, and academic wellbeing of students
  • Provide counseling (1:1 and small group) to identified IEP students
  • Address legal issues
  • Participate in the development of the student’s Individual Education Plan
  • Collaboration with staff, families, and community resources
  • Implement crisis intervention strategies to ensure student safety and success

Qualifications:

  • Master’s (MSW) or Doctoral degree in Social Work
  • Eligible DESE Certification
  • Preferred experience in a K-12 setting
  • Preferred experience with the special education population
