Part-Time School Social Worker

We are currently hiring a Part-Time School Social Worker for a K-5th grade school in Evanston. In this role, the Social Worker joining will work 2-3 days a week and will see groups of 2-3 students with IEPs or individual cases. This role is beginning immediately and will go through the end of the school year.
Location: Evanston, IL 60201
Pay Range: $38.50 - $50.00/hr depending on experience
QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE SCHOOL SOCIAL WORKER ROLE:
- Master’s Degree in School Social Work (MSW) is required
- Professional Educator License (PEL) with School Social Worker endorsement is required
- Previous experience in a school setting is encouraged
- Ability to connect with people from diverse ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds
ABOUT THE SCHOOL SOCIAL WORKER ROLE:
- Provide advocacy, child welfare, and case management services to students.
- Works with parents and children in a confidential and caring manner and assists the family, school, and community in any way required to bridge gaps between family and school.
- Assess, identify and provide clinical interventions to students with emotional, social, attendance and/or behavioral concerns within the general education population.
- Perform consultations with classroom teachers and be a resource for school site personnel on mental health and social/emotional issues that may affect classroom performance.
- Other duties as assigned.
