Anthony International is Hiring an Environmental Health and Safety Coordinator Near Sylmar, CA

Job Summary:

The Safety/EHS Coordinator will provide full-time environmental, health, and safety (EHS) support to operations and ensure that all practices follow regulatory requirements, including Cal OSHA, EPA, local (Anthony Inc.), and corporate policies. This position will review and monitor various workers’ compensation claims through the claims process, including and assisting with coordinating claim reporting, investigation, ADA, and return to work processes.

This role focuses on working with the Sylmar site's value streams to monitor and measure the effectiveness of the current safety/risk programs and procedures. Improve and create new processes/procedures where needed and implement them across all value streams to create a cohesive safety organization. The coordinator will ensure ongoing compliance and continuous improvement to help build a culture of proactive safety across all of the value streams at Anthony.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: (Other duties may be assigned)

· Work in compliance with all applicable local, state, regional, and national laws.

· Collect, monitor, and share data associated with incidents, accident reporting, and workers’ comp. Claims, forklift certification, safety training, and incentive programs.

· Develop, implement, and oversee training systems and programs to support plant and EHS objectives.

· Walk the manufacturing floor regularly to establish EHS presence and to provide support.

· Work with HR to Manage Worker's Compensation Claims, including filing procedures, claims management, back to work program – including the ADA process and record keeping.

· Maintain filing and relevant EHS logs of documentation, assuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations (OSHA, EPA, etc.).

· Prepare reports and conduct presentations covering compliance data at all levels of the organization.

· Ensured PPE policies and procedures are well documented and enforced. Keeps up-to-date records of PPE inventory and distribution.

· Point of contact for New Hire orientation and Safety training.

· Responsible for monthly and quarterly reports and timely processing of invoices.

· Keeps current on annual safety and health-related training requirements

· Attend depositions and coordinate with outside counsel as necessary.

· Ability to pay close attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in work.

· Strong analytical and research skills.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:

Requires a BS Degree in Environmental health with a minimum of 1-4 years of EHS experience in a manufacturing environment

or 5 - 8 years of EHS experience in a manufacturing environment experience.

Experience:

EHS experience in a manufacturing environment.

· Manufacturing Environment – Safety gear such as boots, glasses, and earplugs will be required and provided.

· Exposure to disagreeable elements is limited.

· Office - The incumbent typically works in an office environment and uses a computer, telephone, and other office equipment as needed to perform duties. The noise level in the work environment is typical of that of an office. Incumbents may encounter frequent interruptions throughout the workday.

· The employee is regularly required to sit, talk, or hear; frequently required to use repetitive hand motion, handle, or feel; and to stand, walk, reach, bend, or lift up to 20 pounds.

Safety:

The incumbent must perform this job safely without endangering the health or safety of self or others.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $24.64 - $27.74 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
