Accounting Specialist- Anthem Business Group, the parent company of Anthem Broadband, is looking for a full-time Accounting Clerk to provide services and expertise across multiple companies. This role performs a range of clerical, team mentoring, and bookkeeping support functions for all companies served by our office.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is detailed oriented and has some experience in an office environment. We are are willing to train the right candidate who displays positivity and is willing to receive feedback and is open to learn accounting processes and procedures.

Primary Tasks and Responsibilities

• Uses bookkeeping databases, spreadsheets and software
• Post financial transactions using computer software
• Receive and record vouchers, cash and checks
• Enter debits and credits into software applications and databases accurately
• Produce a variety of reports including income statements and balance sheets
• Check for accuracy in reports, figures and postings
• Reconcile and report any discrepancies found in the records
• Match purchase orders confirming prices and quantity to vendors’ invoices
• Verify receipt of material or services/confirmation of receipt of material or services
• Check accuracy of employee reimbursement expenses before processing
• Enter invoices in accounting system for payments ensuring correct approval, coding and matching
• Coordinate with vendors regarding invoicing and payment inquiries and discrepancies
• Respond to vendors inquiries in a timely and professional manner

Education and Experience

• High School Diploma - some additional education and/or certifications can be helpful but not required

Requirements

• Previous accounting experience.
• Job costing experience preferred.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent written and veral communication skills.
