PURPOSE OF JOB: This position is responsible for helping the Facilities Manager with shipping and sales orders and customer service related duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Manage the scheduling and reporting of waste generated.
Entry of Sales Orders, printing of sales orders for shipping, checking or picking sales order shipments.
Maintain and deliver Standing Order shipments for internal and external customers.
Communication with internal and external customers regarding sales orders.
Input received data into the IOS System from the Manufacturer packing slips. Coordinate with Purchasing Agent if there are any discrepancies.
Manage warehouse inventory, including by not limited to organization and ordering.
Responsible for properly storing hazardous chemicals and perishables in refrigerators and freezers according to Manufacturer guidelines.
Update and write commercial invoices for international shipments.
Communicate with shipping vendors regarding domestic and international shipments.
Manage subcontract vendor ordering and receiving.
Maintain positive interaction with all areas of the company.
Work collaboratively across teams to ensure products are being accounted for correctly. Ability to direct employees in the safe handling, storing and distribution of Lab supplies.
Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or equivalent with a minimum of six (6) months Lead experience in a Warehouse, Storage Facility or Distribution Center.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Ability to drive a forklift.
Organizational warehouse skills.
Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers.
Ability to communicate with outside vendors regarding orders, shipping, freight and customs.
Ability to communicate effectively with all departments and levels of personnel.
Excellent problem-solving capabilities and high performance standards with regard to work quality and quantity.
Proficiency with computers including word processing, spreadsheets and inventory management software is desirable.
Strong verbal and written communication skills including documentation of forms.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Standing/walking continuously for up to 3 hours
Occasionally required to bend, kneel, stoop, or crouch
Required to lift, move, and carry up to 50 lbs.
Extensive sitting, phone, and computer use
Extend and reach with hands and arms and use hands and fingers
Ability to communicate verbally on the phone and in person
Fluency in the English language
Extended hours may be needed

Warehouse environment with hazards
Storage of potentially hazardous chemicals as defined by the National Hazard Communication Standards
