Antaya Technologies Corp is Hiring a Wire EDM Technician Near Warwick, RI

POSITION SUMMARY

The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining wire EDM machines to produce high-quality precision parts and components. The technician will also lead the design and development of tools, fixtures, molds, and other equipment used in manufacturing processes, ensuring functionality, reliability, and cost-effectiveness. The Wire EDM Technician will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficiency, accuracy, and reliability of our manufacturing processes.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

· Setup and prepare wire EDM machines for production according to job specifications and requirements.

· Program CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machines using CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software based on engineering drawings and blueprints.

· Operate wire EDM machines to cut, shape, and form various materials with precision and accuracy.

· Monitor machine operations and adjust as necessary to ensure optimal performance and quality of finished products.

· Inspect finished parts to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.

· Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on wire EDM machines to prevent breakdowns and ensure smooth operation.

· Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality control teams to understand project requirements and objectives.

· Utilize CAD software (such as SolidWorks and AutoCAD) to create detailed drawings, models, and simulations of tool designs.

· Optimize tool designs to improve production processes, reduce waste, and minimize downtime.

· Work closely with vendors and suppliers to source materials, components, and equipment for tool fabrication.

· Oversee the fabrication, assembly, and testing of prototype tools, ensuring they meet design specifications and quality standards.

· Provide technical support and guidance to production teams during tool implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance.

· Document all aspects of tool design and development, including specifications, drawings, revisions, and change orders.

· Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including proper handling and disposal of materials and waste.

· Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others.

· Keep accurate records of production activities, including machine settings, maintenance logs, and quality control data.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR CONSIDERATION

· High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in CNC machining, electrical discharge machining, or related field preferred.

· Proven experience as a Wire EDM Technician or similar role in a manufacturing environment.

· Proficiency in setting up and operating Fanuc Wire EDM machines, including programming and troubleshooting.

· Strong understanding of CNC programming and CAM software, such as Mastercam and CamI.

· Excellent attention to detail and ability to work with precision and accuracy.

· Good mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.

· Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.

· Effective communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment.

· Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and manufacturing processes.

· Strong commitment to safety and adherence to safety protocols and procedures.
