Salary: Annually

Maranatha Christian Academy (MCA) is a private school serving Grades Pre-kindergarten through 12 in Brooklyn Park, MN. We are an influential school of collaborators, innovators, and explorers grounded in Christian faith, empowering co-creators of tomorrow. MCA is hiring a Science teacher for the 2023-2024 school year.

Essential Duties

  • Professes Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior; models a consistent, daily walk with Jesus Christ in attitude, speech, and actions
  • Follow the Matthew 18 principle in dealing with students, parents, staff, and administration
  • Prepares course objectives and outline for course of study following curriculum guidelines or requirements/standards of state and school and submits weekly to principal
  • Lectures, demonstrates, and uses audiovisual technology teaching aids to present subject matter to class
  • Prepares, administers, and corrects tests, and records results
  • Assigns lessons, homework, corrects papers, and hears oral presentations
  • Teaches rules of conduct
  • Maintains order in classroom and in auxiliary spaces on campus as well as off-site school-sponsored activities
  • Counsels students when academic and/or behavioral problems arise
  • Discusses students' academic and behavioral attitudes and achievements with parents
  • Keeps attendance and grade records as required by school

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S..) from four-year college or university in Science education.

Desired License: Minnesota state teaching license in Science 9-12
