The Franklin Public Schools, a Prek-12 district, is seeking a skilled and experienced special education assistant to work at the Annie Sullivan Middle School. The assistant will work in a model of service delivery offering academic support in the general education classrooms combined with specialized learning instruction for small groups and individuals. Students requiring assistance and support have mild to moderate disabilities. Key Duties and Responsibilities:-Provide positive behavior supports and academic interventions for students-Work with lead teacher to provide academic, social, and emotional support and intervention-Work collaboratively with team of general education and special education teachers and therapists-Collect data Qualifications:-Bachelor’s degree in special education or related field preferred-Experience in public school setting-Experience working with children with disabilities-Able to take initiative and work independently -Knowledge of adolescent development
