Anne Arundel County Department of Social Services is Hiring an Office Services Clerk GB/AN Near Glen Burnie, MD

Anne Arundel County Department of Social Services is looking for Office Services Clerks for the Glen Burnie location and for Office Services Clerks for the Annapolis location. The position interacts with customers and provides information and initial assessment, and provides direction to customers or vendors requesting agency information or resource referral in person or by telephone. This position works in conjunction with all agency staff and management, as well as on-site community partners and governmental agencies to demonstrate and deliver the highest caliber of customer service.

Minimum Requirements:
Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.

Experience: Two years of experience performing clerical duties.

JOB DUTY
Provides first level assessment of customer needs using appropriate agency tools, computer systems and applying appropriate inquiry techniques; collects and compiles daily and monthly statistics; generates appropriate clearances as necessary for persons applying for programs and mandated services with agency; Customer Service Representatives rotate duties within the Community Resource Center and the Customer Service Center. The incumbent must be able to function at all stations as needed, using the appropriate Standard Operating Procedures relevant to each area. Rotating areas are: Front Desk Reception (CRC and CSC), Station Reception, Switchboard and Clerical Support; receives and routes mail (hand-delivered, faxed or e-mail) to appropriate staff members; performs clerical functions as needed (answering telephones, typing reports, letters, etc);

Responsible for the prompt, accurate, courteous and tactful delivery of information to customers vendors, governmental representatives, and the general public concerning services and resources available at the local DSS in person or on the telephone; this position does not determine benefit eligibility.

This is a contractual position with benefits. Candidates are subject to a back ground check.
