Position: Building Materials Purchasing Manager
Location: Winchester, VA
Responsibilities:
· Develop and implement purchasing strategies for building materials to ensure cost-effectiveness, quality, and timely delivery.
· Source and evaluate suppliers/vendors, negotiate contracts, and establish favorable terms and conditions.
· Maintain strong relationships with suppliers/vendors to facilitate efficient procurement processes.
· Monitor market trends, industry developments, and pricing fluctuations to make informed purchasing decisions.
· Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including project managers and construction teams, to understand material requirements and forecast demand accurately.
· Oversee inventory management, including inventory levels, stock replenishment, and inventory optimization.
· Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and company policies throughout the procurement process.
· Continuously identify opportunities for cost savings, process improvements, and supplier diversification.
Qualifications
· Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
· 3 years related experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management, preferably in the construction/building materials industry related to commodity lumber and building materials.
· Strong negotiation skills and ability to build and maintain relationships with suppliers/vendors.
· Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
· Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
· Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
· Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
