We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced In-Network and Out-of-Network Biller with expertise in worker's compensation and personal injury protection (PIP) billing to join our reputable podiatry practice. The ideal candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of claim scrubbing, claim posting, appeals process, and the latest regulations pertaining to surprise out-of-network billing in New Jersey. Your expertise in these areas will be instrumental in maximizing revenue, ensuring accurate claims processing, and maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities for Medical Biller:

  • Process and scrub insurance claims for podiatry services, including in-network, out-of-network, worker's compensation, and PIP billing.
  • Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information for billing purposes.
  • Thoroughly review claims to identify and resolve any coding or billing errors, ensuring claims are clean and accurate before submission.
  • Post claims and payments accurately in the billing system, reconciling any discrepancies or rejections.
  • Handle the appeals process for denied or underpaid claims, including documentation preparation and timely submission.
  • Stay updated on the latest regulations and guidelines pertaining to surprise out-of-network billing in New Jersey, ensuring compliance with all requirements.
  • Collaborate with the billing team and providers to address any billing-related questions or concerns, providing expert guidance on worker's compensation and PIP billing processes.
  • Communicate professionally and courteously with insurance companies, patients, and internal staff, providing exceptional customer service and resolving any billing inquiries or disputes.
  • Maintain accurate and organized records of all billing activities, ensuring confidentiality and adherence to privacy regulations.

Qualifications for Medical Biller:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in medical billing and coding is preferred.
  • Proven experience in medical billing, with expertise in in-network, out-of-network, worker's compensation, and PIP billing, preferably in a podiatry or healthcare setting.
  • Extensive knowledge of claim scrubbing, claim posting, and appeals processes, including familiarity with relevant billing software.
  • In-depth understanding of worker's compensation and PIP billing regulations, guidelines, and specific requirements.
  • Familiarity with New Jersey surprise out-of-network billing regulations and the ability to ensure compliance.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to analyze and interpret complex insurance policies and guidelines.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in computer skills, including MS Office Suite and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to communicate complex billing information clearly and professionally.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to work independently and as part of a team.
