Animal Specialty Center is Hiring a Licensed Veterinary Technician - Emergency Triage and In-Patient Care Near Yonkers, NY

Are you a Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) looking to join a team where your skills and passion for animal care will be celebrated? Look no further than Animal Specialty Center (ASC), where we're on a mission to provide exceptional care that keeps owners and their beloved pets together for as long as possible.

We are looking to add a LVT to our talented Emergency department!

Schedule:

  • Three 12-hour shifts
  • Days and Overnights Available!
    • Days: 8a – 8p
    • Overnights: 8p – 8a (shift differential)
    • Schedule would NOT be a combination of days and overnights unless requested.

 Compensation:

  • $28 - $35 pending skills assessment leveling
  • Shift Differential
    • M-TH Overnights: Base $4
    • F-Su Overnight: Base $6
    • Sa/Su Days: Base $4

Common Skills used within ER as an LVT:

  • Venipuncture & IV catheter placement
  • Triage & Assess patients/obtain vitals.
  • Critical thinking
  • Providing nursing care/monitoring to hospitalized patients.
  • Anesthesia, Surgery prep, Patient recovery
  • Running in-house lab testing & use of Cubex
  • Filling prescriptions/Dispensing oral and iv medications.
  • Drug administration. 
  • Radiographs
  • Provide client education!
  • ECG monitoring
  • Advanced CPR
    • RECOVER certification provided for all employees.

Advanced skills include (but are not limited to):

  • Central lines
  • Placing urinary catheters
  • Placing nasogastric tubes
  • Placing nasal cannulas
  • Maintaining indwelling tubes (chest tube, feeding tube)
  • Blood transfusions
